JOLT MUSIC 008:

Semele’s Tryst

Enchanted Forest is Noah Jacobson-Carroll and Em Boltz. Their journey as a duo began in 2020, an unlikely genesis via iMessage correspondence, despite both being based no more than ten blocks away in West Philadelphia. This digital connection sparked a creative synergy that would eventually give birth to their musical endeavors that take listeners on a sonic journey via idiosyncratic texture and ethereal melody.

Their debut album, "Research," serves as a mesmerizing introduction to their artistic prowess, utilizing field recordings and karaoke tape decks to simulate conversation through hypnagogia and stale air. While their debut took inspiration from Krautrock, Ernest Hood and Mort Garson, their upcoming release finds itself inspired by Carl Stone, Severed Heads, James Ferraro, and hardware trackers and samplers, aiming to construct provocative rhythms. Despite its differences, “Semele’s Tryst,” remains true to the textures that initially inspired Enchanted Forest, blending the surreal, the organic, and the synthetic.

Ultimately, what sets Enchanted Forest apart is their ability to create highly melodic electronic music that bears their distinctive signature. The result is a confident and captivating album that focuses on crafting music with a strong beat.
